Just bought remanufactured engine. Is supposed to be 69 351w.
Looked up casting number and am confused as to what I have.
Number is: D1AE 6015-DA-14
This means 1971 out of a Galaxie.
Is this a Windor or M block?
Thanks for the help.

If you have the block in front of you, does it have the timing cover cast into the block, or does it use a separate aluminum/pot metal cover? If it is one piece, it is an M-block. If it uses the separate cover, it is a Windsor. A D1AE casting number almost sounds like an M-block or a Cleveland, but not sure.
A remanufactured engine would often mix and match parts from different casting numbers or years as long as they were the same dimensions. 400s used different blocks prior to '75 when the 351M was introduced.
D1AE 6015-DA-14 is a 351 Windsor block. These blocks were't exclusive to the Galaxie. The 3rd letter "A" is a generic Ford code used in many Ford vehicles. A "Z" code means that it was only offered in Mustangs, like parts used in the Boss engines.
