429 electrical

I have a 1989 Ford F-700 with the 429 4v. It isn't getting power to the coil when the key is on. It has masses of wires and I don't know where to start. There weren't any related fuses on the fuse panel so I am completely lost.

I haven't been able to find anyone in person that knows anything about these trucks with these engines either.

I don't know much about the later years, but you could just find a circuit that is hot with the key on and run you a new fire through the firewall to the coil. Make sure it is hot with key on and with the key in the start position.

I just now got it running. I had to replace the ignition switch that is down on the column that connects to the key cylinder with a rod. Now it purrs. Pretty cheap fix relatively-- Only twenty dollars for the part. The only vehicles that part number is supposed to fit, though, is a 77' or 78' LTD.
