Ok, very weird. Have a 04 F250. Got in her this morning to and starts fine, sounds fine. The guy that was taking the truck this morning came to me and aske me to look at it. When you go to turn the whell the wheel turns like theres no weight on the front end. LITERLY! You can turn the wheel, like whiped it and it turns all the way left or right way to easy. What would cause this? Power Steering Pump going out? Like I said there is no squek are noise coming from any where. And when you make a turn and you know how the wheel will strighn after the turn, well she wont do that either. ANY AND ALL HELP will e much app!
Dude, it's been less than a day! Give people a chance to get home from work and get on here. Not everyone can slack off at work like us and check forums all day
I had a similar problem and had to replace the gearbox. Mine wouldn't starighten out after a turn but it was alittle stiff when I made a turn left or right. I ended up having to replace the pump and the gearbox. If you do decide to replace the gearbox, I would recommend a readhead gb. When I went through my steering problems, I got one from powersteering pros and it lasted about 6 months. After another 6 months of having to prove to them it was indeed a faulty gearbox, they sent me another one under warranty but told me that it would be the last one they would cover. I learned about readhead after going through all that and I learned it from FTE. If I recall correctly, redhead beefs up the worm gear.
Thats just my experience. I don't mean to talk bad or degrade a business, but I wish I would have been warned prior to spending that much money.
If this one fails, I will spend a few more bucks on the readhead since powersteering pros won't warranty the second one.
Here's alink to the thread. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...installed.html
Hope this helps.
