Injectors???

Well I've only delt with 7.3 diesels so I apologize if this gets covered multiple times. My dads truck needs new injectors and I'm just wondering what your guys opinions are on replacing them? His truck is stock with intake and exhaust and 88000 miles.

Also it's just 1 injector #4 and the ficm. What's the aftermarket look like for ficm?

Best bet is to send the ficm out for repair. ficmrepair.com is the place most use.

Just get an injector from napa or the like. Some good deals on ebay, but buyer beware.

If you only need one in a pinch call warren diesel. Warren Diesel You may also consider an entire set of 8 but I would inquire with him about it. Only $500+core for a set of 8 that are what he calls stock+. Holderdownperformance.com is also a dealer for him. Do not use an injector from napa, imo.

Thanks for the tips. Problem is my dad can't be without his truck for more than 1 day. So I would need a ficm shipped with core returned later.

I dont know how you can have a Bad FICM and come to a conclusion you have a Bad Injector

A Bad FICM maybe messing with that injector IDK you might fix the FICM and the injector may start working right

In these cases it best to get the FICM repaired first then if the injector still has an issue then replace it IMO

Unless the FICM was low Volts and injectors Failed a Ballon test then that would Lead me to think both are Bad

But something like a Contributation Code hard to Say injector bad with the Ficm Bad If that makes sense either component being bad could throw that code

Injectors aren't a place to go cheap or you'll end up doing them again. Motorcraft is the BEST way to go for injectors. Properly remanufactured, not just taken apart, "cleaned", and put back together.

FICM Repair.com - Your Source for FICM Repair is a TOP NOTCH place to get your FICM repaired and not only is Ed a site sponsor he will work with you on getting you back going QUICKLY.
