It is becoming harder and harder to track down the great work our members are doing. Build threads keep us up to date on what they are doing or planning to do. As the site gets busier and our time lessened, sometimes these great threads can get "lost", especially if not posted to every few days.
This thread is designed for a listing of members build thread links. No comments, no other stuff, just you putting a link to your build thread.
In your Title put: Year Model and then a Style Code in parenthesis.
Such as: 1951 F-1 Panel (R)
Use the following codes (just to help us sift through the builds if we are looking for something specific. Now you decide how to code it, but the easiest codes would be:
O - Original
S - Original with Safety undates (brakes, etc.)
R - Rodded (Looks like Henry made it, but not after you turn the key)
D - Darkside (Hot Rod) Mostly like Henry, but with your improvements
In order to get your link, open your build thread and at the top click on LinkBack, then LinkBackURL in the top bar. "Copy" the URL, then Create a post in this thread and "paste" in the Link.
Don't get too crazy, like 10 pictures. Maybe a small one, or just the link to keep us in suspense!

I'm starting with the rebuild code of "S" but haven't made up my mind. I do plan on boxing in the frame and I would like to put disk brakes on it but as far as replacing the 239 and the drivetrain I haven't completely decided. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Have had this project for a week and have it down to the frame. I'll start cleaning the frame next week and then clean, inspect, and repair the steering and suspension.

I am a new member and can't seem to find the correct way to Post a New Question, so I will proceed in this format. Please correct me if I am wrong. I have built three antique cars in the past 15 years but never a Truck. I am looking at a 1954 F100 which seems to be in good shape but I have not been able to put in on my lift as yet. The owner has consigned it to a local used car dealer and I must wait for his approval to inspect it while on my lift. Althought it seems that the frame and Body are in good condition from what I can see buy looking under I have discovered what I consider an unusual item that is under both doors. It is a rubbery strip between the door frame and what I believe is called the running board or the place where you step up to get into the cab area. This rubbery strip runs the entire length of the door but is not attached to the door. Both sides of the Truck have this item. I cannot determine how this is suppose to be part of the frame or Chassis/body. I have been unsuccessful in finding a diagram or pictures on the Internet of what this sturcture should look like. I would appreciate any advice on this matter as I would like to buy this truck if the frame, body, suspension and mechanics are in good condition, which they seem to be except for this rubbery item. I have never seen this type of device before on any vehicles that I am familiar with or even trucks. Ron

To start a new thread, click on the "New Thread" button on the left side on the forum main page.
It would be helpful to answer your question if you would post a picture of the rubber strip to which you refer.
Pictures can be added to your post if they are first somewhere on the Internet. I use Photobucket for this purpose.
Here's one way to put pictures in your post.
Go to Phoobucket.com and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.
While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).
When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain)
and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).Your pic will be placed in the post.
