Same hear, no problems yet. Last three day near 80 and no change in temp gauge. I know it doesnt compare to Texas heat, or anywhere else it gets hot. I do not tow regular either. It is my ddd, just hauling my butt around most of the time. Did notice Thursday that once I came to a stop, the temp actually dropped while idling. Looks like a good sign that no fan will work just fine in my neck of the woods. Im still gonna gather the e fans and have them in case.
Tried to put back on the other nite, have to remove top rad hose. I am going to put it on tomorrow if it aint rainin. Need to change the t stat on my other psd and gonna take the fan off of it. Last tank of fuel got 17.4 mgp, only change to truck was to air up front tires to 65, they had 45. I will post any changes as they happen. Been reading about testing for boost leaks, looks like that is my next project.
I'm running 65 front, 80 rear right now too. I used to like dropping the rears to 55 when I/m empty just for a nicer ride but not now. I saw diesel at 4.56 yesterday and was just pissed! The station even stopped putting the price up on the sign they are so embarrassed. I just don't recommend anyone go over the pressure on their door sticker for the fronts. While it may make for better mileage they get too squirrely on rutted roads. I got so nuts on the hunt for mileage on mine that I set my toe as close to zero as I could get it. It's really bad on ruts now if I go over 65 psi front.
I ran without a fan for awhile. Till one day I pulled off the highway and got stuck in traffic for over 15min. It was over 90* out, no side streets to turn on, couldnt use a/c. Factory temp gauge started creeping up, way up, just before HOT. Finally got to a side street, flew down the street to cool her off. Ordered a 6.0 fan that night cause my stock fan had bent fins. Not worth cooking engine over a few HP and throttle response.
If there was any chance of getting stuck in traffic, the e fans would already be on. Most of my mileage is highway, so I think I will be ok. Still gonna source some e fans and have them just in case.
Hey RRranch, how do you set your own toe??? Both of my front tires are wearing on the outside, would a toe adjustment help?
