I wouldn't necessarily get hung up on having braided jackets vs non-braided as long as the hose is correctly rated. If you get braided hoses then you really need to put some sort of protective covering over it so it doesn't destroy everything around it.

From what I can tell, the industry standard hose color for properly rated smooth hoses is blue. Here is an example of a quality hose that works fine for HPOP lines. This particular hose actually has two layers of steel braid jackets with an outer protective layer. I presume the new replacements from Ford are made of similar material. You might want to give Clay a call and see if he knows for sure.

Oh, ok. (I must have mis-understood)

I thought you were wondering if the replacement hoses would be of lesser quality since they might not have the outer braided covering.

It's cool brother,I was just under the hood(haven't had much time for that lately) and was digging around looking at what it's gonna take to do the HPOP line replacement along with rebuilding the fuel bowl, and as long as I've had my truck I have never actually looked at the lines,I bought my truck used and wanted to be sure they hadn't been replaced already...Thanks ....Phil
