I'm not sure what you mean - I have a 2012 F250 with the 20" Aluminum wheels and they are what I expected - all aluminum, polished. They do not have a plastic wheel cover. I specifically specified these when I ordered the truck. I do recall that another 20" wheel was offered that was not polished but I wanted the polished wheels and that's what I got.
Is the Chrome clad a seperate piece that goes over the top of the alumimum wheel? I am just wondering if I could add it to my 2011 20" wheels. Thanks.
I guess technically it is a separate piece, but I think that it's semi-permanently affixed to the wheel. I would doubt you could add it to the 2011 20s, as the design of the spokes, etc are different.
I think what you have is the better of the two anyway, but I guess that's a matter of opinion.
Thanks for your opinion and response. I saw the new 2012 wheels on a F350 inside the dealership's showroom...and was like "Wow...that is what I need more chrome!!"......I have way too much chrome as it is and will stick with my boring alumimum 20" wheels!
just went online to build it and you can only get the chrome clad wheels with the chrome package. wish i new why they did that i think the polished wheels will hold up better in the long run.
ok so ive been reading about chrome clad aluminum wheel. i dont know if i should be worried, pissed, or change my order before its too late. my 08 6.4 has polished alum wheel s and i really love them.
If you flick it w/your finger nail you can tell it's plastic, but can't tell otherwise. If you're really not sure, best to go down to the lot if you can and see for yourself.
Given the size of the tire sidewall of the tires, you would really have to hit a wicked curb to actually hit the rim. If you're planning on running through a rock garden, then you might have some issues.
