i am having trouble with my cab lights, There is a short some where in the wiring and i am having trouble finding it. A couple of my lights will be on sometimes and off others. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

 

You will need to drop the headliner. My guess is a loose or broken wire, but you will only be able to see/get them with the headliner out of the way

 

You don't have a short in the wiring, if you did it would be blowing fuses, you have a lose connection or an intermittant open connection.

Why do people say they have a short in an electrical system when there is a problem?

 

I guess "short" is the universal term for an electrical problem. Kinda like when people say "jet ski" when they have a Sea Doo or Yamaha, when in fact "Jet Ski" is the Kawasaki personal watercraft brand. I know how you feel. It annoys me too.
