inknow there has been multiple posts. I have a f350 xl without any auto temp setting. My truck does not blow any warm air until after 10 minutes of driving. I️ do have the cab heater. All the fuses are good. I’ve tried the max heat setting and just low fan speed as well. Still no warmer air. Anyone else have his issue. This is my first diesel so I️ have nothing to compare to.
The "rapid heat" is a bit relative. Think of is as a hair dryer being forced through the air vents in the cab. It is enough to just take the edge off a cold cab and start to melt ice on the windshield before the engine heat gets to a point it is useful.

I dunno about that. Mine gets down right toasty warm in fairly short order. It doesn't get crazy cold here. Past few mornings have been in the mid to upper 20's.
I’m curious of the heater also. My first cool morning I noticed this truck blows warm air far quicker than previous diesel trucks I’ve driven. My sticker does not show the truck having supplemental heater. I read somewhere, I think on this site, that if you have the three 50 amp fuses installed then you have the heater. I’ve got the 3 fuses and relays. I’ve pulled the fuses and can tell no difference.
I’ve also read varying reports of the heater. Some say it’s instant and some say it takes a few minutes. I wish I had a truck to compare it to. Either way my truck without it does blow warm air quicker than earlier models without it.

I have an XL F350 with the STX package. I read somewhere in order to use it, after you start the truck turn the climate control on front vent. Until I did this, I too questioned it. But for me it works, I just turn the whole thing off prior to turning off the truck for the night. Next morning start it up and go through the steps and it starts blowing like mentioned above reference a hair dryer, then it starts warming up.
“Doesn’t seem to work” is pretty subjective. They don’t blow hot out of the vents, but warm air does flow.
Conduct a quantitative test to positively determine if it is working. You need a sensitive thermometer. Not a turkey thermometer - something you can see one degree changes across the 30-90 degree range. With the truck off and cold soaked, shut all dash vents except one. Put the thermometer in the remaining open vent. Let it stabilize and record the time and temp. Now start the truck, turn heat to manual on the front vents only at low speed. While coolant temps are slowly crawling up through 40-50 (based on outside temp) your air will be at 65-70. Whatever your numbers, if the air is warmer than the coolant, it is being heated by electricity.
If it isn’t quantitatively warmer, show your test to the dealer to troubleshoot the heater. Record readings every minute for 10 minutes. Add coolant temp if you have digital indication of temps. If air temp isn’t higher than coolant temp (at least through about 70 DET coolant) throubleshoot the supplemental heater.
Dual Alts are not standard. If your truck came with the supplement heat option, it will have two alts. Extra heavy duty alt is an option. but not for the sup heater.
i have a XLT premium on mine you need to rotate the heat **** to the spring loaded stop and release it. the blower goes full power, the defroster comes on automatically, the heated seats turn on as well as the rear defrost. mine works great!
