Jukebox Playlist Capacity
Jukebox Playlist Capacity
Does anyone know the max number of tracks that can be put into a playlist, or if there IS a max? I sat out one night making up lists of good tunes and got to 20, then 30, then 40, then 50 & then gave up!
Good question.
One would hope that the limit is so high that it's very unlikely to be reached. I guess you could try, and just as an experiment put like a thousand songs into one playlist.
If you do that, please don't forget to report back!

The playlist is just a text file so I would say as long as the size of the file is less than the available space on the HDD, you're fine.
I have playlists on my USB flash drive with over 100 songs with no issue.

OK, just getting familiarized with playlists so excuse my dumbness...next question:
So can I burn an MP3 file to a CD then record the CD to the JUKEBOX, or do MP3s only run from USB? Tried one and it didnt work but could have been a formatting issue.

If it's a composed CD (i.e., you created it from other sources) or it's a newer audio CD that's not in the Gracenote DB, you will have to complete the song title, artist, etc.
has anyone had success connecting an external large disk drive to the USB port for playing MP3s? I have a 1 Terrabyte TOSHIBA drive but when I plug it in, it says "initializing" for about 5min then "incompatible device". If I copy the same MP3s to USB sticks in smaller quantity, they play fine...what is this? I thought it was all MICROSOFT compatible or is that the problem??
Is the drive formatted FAT32?
Is it completely empty except for the MP3s?
What are the drive's power requirements (you might be exceeding the USB power limitations)?
Why 1TB? I have 2500 songs on a 16GB USB flash drive. Are you really going to have that many songs?

Bought the 1 TB drive because it was cheap & on sale and I have a lot of music.

Was successful in recording MP3 home made CDs to the jukebox, but they lose the song names, so a good approach might be to keep the main music database on the 1TB hard drive at home and just bring USB sticks into the truck as they retain the album and song titles on the screen.
Still wonder why the 1TB drive doesnt work when plugged into the truck??
