I am new to this forum and a bit intimidated due to my lack of knowledge on diesel trucks, so forgive me if I ask dumb questions. I just purchased an 05 F250 XLT 6.0 and love it. Here is my 1st dumb question to ask, it has nothing to do with it being a diesel, just a general Ford question:
Why won't my CD player accept a burned CD? It spits it back out saying "Error" or something to that effect. Thanks in advance for the help!
First off, welcome to FTE! Second, no such thing as a dumb question here, ok? The only dumb question is the one that goes unasked. We're all here to help, and if there's something you don't understand, feel free to fire away!
Now to the ERROR code message during CD play:
1. Could be a bad recording disk.
2. Could have the CD in upside down (hey, we've all done it at least once!).
3. Are you sure it recorded onto the CD-R when you burned it over? Try playing your burned copy on your home computer or another stereo system and see if it actually copied the music?
4. Do other CD's you've burned play in the CD player ok?
5. Does the CD player play CD's you've purchased retail ok?
Sometimes we overlook the obvious, so I thought I'd throw some (hopefully) simple fixes at you before we go to the next level of possibilities...
