i have a friend that has a 1993 7.3 idi and the gauge lights dont light up until he presses on the breaks, also the climate controls dont light up till he presses on the breaks as well. they worked when he bought the pickup but he melted some wiring i thnk for the tail lights and somthing for the fuel. he took it into a mechanic and had new wiring harness instualed and as soon as he got the pickup back they didnt light up. anyone have any ideas?
Either something wasn't rewired correctly or there's still wire's melted together. Not sure how someone could wire the dash lights into the brake light. Only way I figure to find the problem is trace the wiring from the dash lights out to the headlight switch.
ok, i know he has a couple extra head light switches and he says he always has a spare cuz they keep going out so maybe somthing is messed up in that area
