My headlights and foglights are on all the time while the switch is in the AUTO position. Any ideas? They do go off when I switch it off. Would like the AUTO function to work properly.

Any ideas?

Nothing covering the sensor. All wires appear to be OK

Does your truck possibly have DRL's - daytime running lamps?

There is something wrong with the switch or photo sensor.

No DRL that I know of. All are on though. Run, fog and head.

There is a sensor on the dash. Dome looking thing at the edge of one of the defrost vents. I'd say this is most likely the problem. I don't think it's expensive. You might try just unplugging it and see if the lights go out.

But, it might also be a problem with wiring rubbed through, a short or break in the wires, or a problem in the module the control the autolamps. I'm not sure which one that is in either a 2001 or 2002, it could be the GEM or the Vehicle Security Module. Sometime in about that time period, the GEM went away. I don't have wiring diagrams for those years either.
