Evening guys.
I hate tearing things apart that I have built.
I am redoing a deck that I added on to about 12 years ago.
The old part of the deck that I did not build is coming apart easily add the part that I built needs a small nuke to take apart.
I am putting all new Ipe decking and railing back.
andy what have you been using for construction adhesive? we ran out of our stock of PL and were forced to buy VOC compliant crap, i was not impressed at all. it was filming over way too fast to actually glue anything. the home depot by my house in NY is very small and choices are very limited.
Ipe is a b****.
Be careful with the drill bits. When they snap off it can really ruin your day.
I just laid 600 square feet of 1x6.
Square drive stainless screws are too soft and the heads strip out.
Do yourself a favor and use GRK Climatek.
They have thinner shanks and are harder.
The Torx heads don't strip.
The Smartbit tool from Starborn does a nice job of cutting consistent counterbores.

Use the V.O.C. compliant PL Premium.
It will NOT come off... your hands, your tools, the finished surfaces it touches.
Anything!
