Good luck with that Kyle.
I'm sure it will be much smoother with that rusty bearing replaced!

My starter woes continue.
I even opened a thread trying to figure it out.
Best I can tell, the parts store sold me an undersize Chinese made flywheel/ring gear combo.

I want to figure a way to use another starter with more offset or a larger pinion so I don't have to R&R the gearbox with my bad shoulder.

Jim, luckily I caught the wheel seal early enough before I drove around anymore with it! It's to bad that the original wheel bearing couldn't be saved but oh well, I'd rather have it done properly! Hopefully I can find some time to off road soon. Looks like we are gonna be slammed with work, but that's perfectly fine with me!

Glad to hear that you are busy Kyle.

There's really nothing like the thermal mass of a true masonry chimney.
Quite a skill to build a firebox, throat and smoke shelf that draws well under all conditions!

My boss is a very good mason. Pretty much has the entire market here in new london county. I don't know how to build a fire box, as I am just the laborer, but I know I could build the upper portion of the chimney!

But, you have the opportunity to watch an Artist at work!

Maybe you're hustling to fill the hod or mix the mortar.
Some would say the work you do is archaic, even arcane...
But man needs fire, and warmth.
Always has, always will.

Evening guys.
Jim that was very well said !

This is going to be a busy weekend for me.
We are having the cub scout blue & gold dinner on Sunday.
This is where the older cub scouts crossover to boy scouts.

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

.

Jim, I learn a heck of a lot watching! I actually prefer to mix the mortar by hand instead of with the paddle mixer, or the cement mixer. Two 80lb bags at once, usually needs about 4 gallons of water. We work like madmen, I set up two separate 30ft scaffolds today by myself, takes about 3 times as long if you are doing it by your self. I should be working saturday and sunday!
