Feeling better today !
The flat bed shop where I was looking for a new tailgate had a white one,
but I passed since it had a small dent and so just planned on filing insurance claim, but today I called back to offer him much less money since it needed to be painted and more work done...
He said I was just about to call you...
what's your paint code ?
I told him and he said go buy a lottery ticket,
this just came in this morning ! Want it ?
I almost offered him MORE money
I said if I were lucky (and a bit smarter)
I wouldn't have dropped my new 5er on the tailgate !!!!!!!
He wanted my old tailgate for a project but I need to get the camera out of it... then I'll give it to him for a little rebate
I guess this will occur about every 30,000 as the engine gets louder.
Maybe....I love it though!!!

Ah come one Bruce.....you're from here originally anyway. You mean to tell me you're not up for a roadtrip?

That's what several folks say Gerry. Mine has a little over 6k on it now and I've noticed it's a little louder than new but I don't mind. It's still a lot quieter than my '05 was and I loved that truck. It is a little quieter (or so it seems) when I fill up and use the fuel additive.

Man, talk about luck!! Glad to hear it worked out for you. I agree with him......go buy a lottery ticket!
Oh yeah, and you have to make the same deal I did above......sounds like you stand a better chance of having to buy us all a truck with your luck!

What fuel additive do you use if you don't mind me asking? Thanks, Paul.
When I hit the lottery and buy you your new one, it shall be quieter.
Got it. I'll try that tomorrow morning. Do you know of anyone who has complained of the front differental lock makin noise? I thought it was my hub cap but then I turned it to "lock" and it seemed sturdy. The manual says to keep it in "auto" for best fuel economy but i think it's turning by itself when I drive.

DANGIT!!! I watched a feller last year in Minnesota drop his 5er on his flat bed. Gawd, that was an awful sound and sight to see. He was riggin down and a passerby stopped to chat and the poor guy got distracted where he left off in his tear down routine. I don't like it when somebody wants to jump in and help me tear down or set up. I got my routine and I am easily distracted.
How did your tailgate get fubarred? Glad you found replacement parts.

I haven't read anything on here and haven't heard that from anyone else. Coincidentally, when I was washing my truck the other day, I noticed my right hib was turned a little bit from the "Auto" position. I turned it back and it's not moved since.
Check your hubs and see if they're snug or if they turn easily or loosely. If they're not snug and it takes no effort to turn them, I would get it in and get it checked....one or both may need to be replaced.

But keep on doing the right thing and they will have a sense of self worth instead of self loathing like some of the losers we see on the news every night !

I would have cried How many "new" words did you invent ?
Brand spanking new and killed the tailgate........... I did this on my brand new 2008 Dodge 3500, Sept 2008. I backed into the pin box of my Wildcat 5th Wheel. Big dent center of tailgate just below the handle.
