back window gasket

Just use a simple glass cleaner for lubricant the type in an aresol can is the best . Soapy water is hard to clean up and the sealant you use between the gasket and the metal of the truck may not seal well with all the soap. you can also get good gaskets from almost any auto glass supplier in town. Use nylon rope and a friend to put some pressure on the outside of the window as you pull the gasket over the pinch weld. the best type of sealant to use is a good 3m or essex urethane which you can get from any auto glass shop about 10 dollars a tube. Then the seal will meet all saftey standards and not leak or ever pop out on you. also a hook tool or cotter pin puller tool (same thing) can be helpful on the inside if you have a tight gasket or any spots that are tight on the corners it helps work the gasket over the pinch weld. If you have any other questions just let me know. I installed auto glass for about 15 years.

I have decided to order my front and rear window rubber from Dennis Carpenter. I am going to let a good glass guy in town here install them both for me for about $50.00
