I just would like any tips from anyone who has replaced a sliding rear window alone, I have a complete window and also new gasket I'm just short on help.
Use a nylon line - not cotton. It will snap because you will want to pull it hard.
Work the nylon line in a wide circle to coaks the WS over the body opening.
Install and seal the weatherstrip to the rear window before installationin on the truck and let dry thoroughly.
Center the weatherstrip seam at the top or the bottom. I prefer the bottom.
Lots of soapy water so the nylon line doesn't tear the weatherstrip.
After installation, insert the caulking tube behind the ws as you run and inject sealer into the WS to body mating surface.
'Gotta have a helper to maintain pressure while you tug and draw the nylon cord

OK, so you use adhesive between the window and gasket, what type?
I use the nylon rope trick with some soapy water. And Ive pretty much found that you have to use some permatex clear silicone between the pinch weld and rubber. I just fold over the flap on the inside and run a bead all the way around the window.
You might be having a tough time with the fitment because Ive found a lot of the aftermarket seals suck. Every seal Ive ordered from LMC front and back windows has had fitment issues. Thats why you need to use silicone.

I got mine from LMC, when installed does the gasket look like crap?

On the back window one it seems to me like the flaps on the front and rear arent wide enough. Especially from the outside on the corners you can see a gap where the recessed area around the window begins because the flap doesnt come over it wide enough. And on my front one of the corners on the outside is molded completely wrong. Also on the front my window leaks where it goes into the rubber. Im not happy with LMC seals at all.
Good question. I prefer 3M products and use 3M-8509 between the WS and the body; and, 3M-8506 to adhere the WS to the window.
So is it pretty much necessary to use sealant with these seals. I always thought you didnt need too, but Ive found out otherwise especially when seals dont fit.

Who else has gaskets ? any oem around or better quality? all the LMC weatherstrip and seals suck period.
well the rear window in the newer trucks is the same would the weather stripping be the same also. the cab mount i just got from lmc said it was for 1966 to 1996 ford pickups.
