1992 engine bay harness in a 1994 truck

Hey guys. Does anyone know where I can find an under hood harness diagram for our trucks? Specifically I need a diagram for a '92 F-150 5.0L and one for a '94 F-150 4.9L.

The reason I need diagrams, in case anyone may know by a slim chance something that could help me out.. When I did my 5.0L swap a couple years ago, I used a '94 truck that had an SD 4.9L in it. I used the engine AND under hood harness from a 1992 truck. I didn't realize that the harness could and probably is different in a couple areas. TexasGuy and I were looking at the truck talking about the problems I've been having with my windshield wipers and washer not working, horn not working, etc and we are wondering if most of these issues aren't because I used a 1992 under hood harness.

I'm thinking if the pinouts are different between the two year models, I could pull apart the connector and re-pin the under hood harness to match the truck to make these things work.

Thanks for any help guys.

I don't have the diagrams but it is pretty much a 100% certainty that these two harnesses are pinned differently

Yeah, after talking with Ty about it last night, I'm pretty sure this is going to be the cause of 90% of my problems. If I can pull the wires from the engine bay harness and repin it to match the truck, I think I'll be in good shape.

At the time I started that project I had no clue that the '92 harness was any different. DOH!!! Hopefully I don't have to go find a new harness and modify it again for the SEFI, MAF conversion, and A9L EEC..

Wow, these older wiring diagrams are dinosaurs compared to what I have on current models.

Check your PM's.

Thanks Steve.

I think I jumped the gun a bit, but I'm going to see if I can make something work anyways. I forgot, yet again, my '94 has AIR BAGS!!!! LOL. I may have to see if I can rob the air bag sensors and harnesses from another parts truck I have and add it into mine.. Dang it!!!

Look at the F250 diagrams. The 94 F250 doesn't have bags.

My '94 F-150 has airbags and I thought I had to have them.

I just did some checking. I think it's just illegal to sell the truck with the air bag system inoperable. So, if I ever decide to sell the truck, I may add air bags back to it at that time, right now I just want to fix the needed parts with my current harness. I'll dig through the Chilton library and see if I can find the pinouts I need. Thanks!

Bump. I checked out that link you gave me Steve, they didn't have what I needed. Lots of useful diagrams in there though. I guess I need the pinout for the connector where the engine bay harness connects with the interior harness at the firewall. I can find EEC pinouts all day, but nothing for that connection.

I may have to go to the shop and look at mine to see what I'm looking for. Been a long time since I wrenched on these trucks. I just got mine Saturday week ago and haven't even been able to touch it since. Later model wiring resources I have are top notch but these are just about to age out of my resources.

Is it a bulkhead connector through the firewall or multiple pigtails? A photo maybe in the meantime? Will be tomorrow afternoon before I can get over to the shop.

It's a bulkhead connector through the firewall right next to where the EEC connector is on the firewall. I'll post a pic in 20-30 minutes when I get back to the shop.

OK, found it in the 1994 wiring. Connector C202 and have that pin-out. It's the same connector number for the 1992. Trouble now is that Ford doesn't show a C202 in the 1992 or 1993 pin-outs.

Maybe Bill subford has a 1992 pinout of C202 ...... Bueller..... Bueller ...... I mean, Bill???? I saw a similar post of his where he seemed to have a diagram.

PM me you email addy.

Here's the pic just to make sure we're talking about the same connection. The EEC is the connector on the right, the one I need is on the left. PM SENT!

If the one I sent doesn't look right let me know. It's the connector with the wipers in it.

Hey ncranchero if you have a pinout for the 1992 C202 Male that'd be phenomenal! I've got a 1995 that originally had the MAF 5.0 with the weaker auto trans and just swapped in a 1992 5.8 with E4OD, transferred the complete engine wire harness as well as transmission harness and the PCM. Currently it seems the only things not working are my wipers and radio. I did convert to the single wiper connector as it appeared that all colors simply swapped from 2 connectors into 1 with the same functions. I've found C202 diagrams for the 1995, just need one for the 1992 so I can correctly switch over and hopefully any issues will be solved.
