Engine wiring harness attachment ?

Hey y'all...I'm in need of some advice. I've got a 94 F150 4X4 that had a 4.9L..and I am going to put in a 5.8L...my question: the engine harness attaches to a spot on the drivers' side fender well, just on the other side of the "power distribution" box...it's held together by a bolt, both the 4.9L and the 5.8L harnesses have this connection...looks like it plugs into the main wiring harness...Can I just unhook the wiring harness from this point and plug in the 5.8L engine harness (came from a '92)? I have to swap computers then also, correct? They're both for an automatic.
Thank you
Rad

Yes, swap computers, but I am unsure of the wiring. I would trace all the wires and make sure the same wire positions on both harnesses serve the same purpose. I think that stuff should be the same, but not having checked myself, I don't want to give you wrong information.
