I assume this is on your 2000 7.3?

What type of gauges? Where are you getting your signal?

Better luck where I'm sure John will move this... in the www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum31/

If all is well with installation and you actually have boost leaks, check intercooler boots for tears/tightness, as well as leaking up pipes.

Are you checking it while driving? Many try it in the driveway which doesn't work. To get boost you have to load the engine.

And by loading, that's not dashing to the store to pick up groceries. A lonely road and an anvil on the throttle is where I check the boost behavior. I usually get no higher than 25 but I've seen it peak at 28. I have a big intake (see my signature links), but stock exhaust for about 2 more weeks.

Yea its on my 2000 f250 . And my Boost gauge is the pressure type from auto meter . I taped in to my intake mainfold right above the (AIH) air intake heater.

Eeewww.... Blowin' coal.

I don't remember where, but there is a video on this forum showing how to test turbo leaks. Take the intake filter tube off and put a 3" pipe with a cap on it and an air fitting. Inject no more than about 10-15 PSI in there (if it goes that high) and spray soapy water on all boots and turbo output fittings. You'll likely find a big honkin' leak or one tired turbo. Exessive exhaust backpressure can cause this as well, but your EGTs would really jump.

If the truck is not blowing black, then I would bet you kinked the line when installing it, or overtightened the ferrels and crimpped the line.

Truck would run like crap if it only makes 5psi.

Then, as stated, you likely have a tear or hole in an IC boot, and/or leaking up pipes. Or both. Based on the age of your truck, it wouldn't be a surprise to have leaking up pipes.

Do you hear the turbo? Is your EBPV(Exhaust Back Pressure Valve) kicking in? Any oil in the tail pipe? Have you removed the intake off of the turbo and inspected it for free movement and play in the shaft, side to side is ok as long as it doesn't strike the housing, you don't want any in and out.

Unhook the red hose going to the wastegate as a test.

That was one of my issues besides leaking intercooler boots..

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...si-at-wot.html

I stepped on it the other day and got about 27 PSI and the truck defueled.

Plan on hooking the wastegate back up soon, got to take it off first and adjust it.

Truck has a LOT of power now after disabling the wastegate.

Hows the truck working in general? Possible the UVCH connectors are working loose?
