i have a 04 250 6.0 and i just changed 2 injectors lastweek and has ran perfect till lastnight i was going down the road and something underthe hood popped and i lost about all of my power..the turbo is still working it just wont go..any ideas thanks
Imagining the situation from written description is not easy, but sudden change in engine performance most likely is a sensor acting. Did you read the codes?
its fine..idk all the intake hoses and everything seem to be workinh fine..its weird how its acting like its not getting air..the turbo is spooling fine so its gotta be getting the right amount of air.
This happened to me one time, shortly after having maintenance done... It was the intercooler hose on the bottom, it popped with an audible POP then loss of performance. What sounds different is you say your turbo is still working, the only way i imagine you know this is by the boost guage... my boost guage went to zero althow it was still working... It may be the same thing, just maybe the boost pressure guage may be in a different place from your truck to mine... just a thought, check those cold air hoses, top and bottom. hope its that simple for you, good luck
ok that might be it then.. im fixen to take it off and check it again...that pipe just slides up in there right..the pipe is in the turbo but the other end i couldnt tell you..

try to follow the tubes all the way from the air box through the turbo, up to the cac and then back to the intake, the cac (charged air cooler) looks like a radiator up front behind the grill. the hoses that connect the pipes are normaly blue and about 4" in diameter check all of the hoses and the intercooler itself for holes and tight clamps.
good luck
i just checked the short blue hose and its all tight..i was talking about the litle metel pipe that comes out the bottom of the turbo. aint really sure where it goes to but you think that it could have came out someway.
ya its possible, its hard to determine just talking online... how about some pix.... its always better with pix. If its not the inter cooler tubes then im at a loss
