Thanks for the help. This old truck has been sitting for 15 years. I cleaned the fuel lines and tank and installed an electric fuel pump and it fired right up. The it won't throttle up though. I'm checking the spark plugs and firing order and looking at the carb. I"m not too good at carbs. Any help where to start on the carb? Also, should I remove the old mechanical fuel pump or just leave it in? Thanks.
Yes, 4V means four barrel. The "V" stands for venturi, the technical term for barrel. I'm not sure which carbs. Ford used on the heavy trucks but my guess would be either Motorcraft/Autolite or, more likely, Holley.
If it's a Motorcraft/Autolite it will probably be a 4150 series. There should be a small metal tag attached to the front part of the carb with a number stamped on it. It should look something similar to D7TF-AA. If it's a Holley there should be a number stamped on the airhorn that starts with the word "list". This will ID which Holley it is.
The carb is a Holley with list # 4136-1 which I could not find any reference to on any website. Is this a common carb and can I find parts easily?
What's the best place to start on a carb that's been sitting for 15 years? I got this truck running, but must manually push the accelerator pump on the side of the carb to keep it running. It won't accelerate using the foot pedal or stay idling. Thanks for the help

n800ford: The carb ID tag is triangular, attaches to the airhorn, has a number similar to this marked on it: DOHF-E / But many of these tags are missing by now.

You do not have an N800, because its last year was 1969. Is a completly different body, has a snub nose with a cab similar to 1961/66 F100/1100's.
1963/69 N/NT's look the same. 1970 and later L/LN's and etc are a totally different animal.
If you remove the mechanical pump, you will need a block-off plate to keep oil from leaking out of the hole. Depending on the mounting pattern, they are usually available from most auto parts stores in the Mr.Gasket area.
