gpr/ po hacking issue
so here i am i have studied the web read articles and have mechanical apptitude to one extent or the other.
it does have a new gpr u can tell, it was wired wrong, i start testing wires with my test light, i have batt, gp wires and two small ones a purple/orange, and a brown /red i believe. so... batt an gp i have covered. my confusion was when i tested the the two smal ones the purple/orange was dead. brown/red is ground goes hot w key.
(i do understand relays btw)
so i get to tracing things at actual relay/ fuse box i look down and low and behold there are two cut wires laying there a purple/ orange (i ohmed it it's the same wire) and a black/white( which is ground) . it appears they cut them coming out of the fuse box, it looks like they were run into the cab, i found a momentary toggle mounted to the dash( wonder why right/). so i can figure out how to rig it with a toggle its a no brainer, but i would like to fix it right so i have the timer..... is the purple wire my timer hot? (i checked it it stayed on for 5 min and never changed. also when i turn the key on i hear the realy kick on for the timer and the dash light stays on only 2 sec then goes off no matter hot or cold.... i will fix it eventually, but im hoping one of u have the knowledge to get me there faster. thanks oh and turns out the black has a yellow stripe not a white
Red/LtGrn is hot all the time with key on. PPL/ORG is pulled to ground by the PCM to activate the GPR and PCM is the timer. Either small wire can be on the small terminals as it's just DC. Wait-To-Start light is independent of GPR ON time. WTS light may come on for 20 seconds max (really cold) where GPR may be energized by the PCM for up to 2 minutes.
