I am in need of finding a ignition or key switched 12 volts and hopefully in the engine compartment instead of under the Dash. I am just starting to wire in my Engine Preluber and Post Luber on the 2012 F-350 6.7.... I need a source for Ignition Switched 12 volts.
In hopes someone may have already found a somewhat easily accessed source. In the past on other Ford Trucks I have gone under the Fuse and Relay box for it.....on the 6.7....What a job that would be!?!?!?!?!
Under the dash (above the drivers left foot) there is a yellow wire with orange stripe. It is a blunt cut wire bundled with the other blunt cut wires. This is a 12V ignition switched source. It is hot in run but it is not hot in start. See pic (it is the one that goes into the blue connector). This wire is right beside the pass thru wires so you could easily connect to one of them and have it under the hood (behind the fuse box).
Under the hood, the only thing I know would be to tap into fuse 52. This one is hot in run AND hot in start. The cold side of the fuse is toward the passengers side of the vehicle.
Mine was white-blue, same location. That bundle was wrapped with a description tag for name/colour on everything (PTO, up fitters, etc.) so it was easy.
Thanks Guys,
I tracked down the wire under the Hood and finished up wiring in and plumbing in my Pre Luber / Post Luber yesterday. Took awhile but got err done. Set the ECM to pump oil for three minutes after shut down. My wife thinks its pretty weird to walk away from the Truck with that funny whirring sound of the Pump running. The way I see it cooling the Oil after shut down is a very good thing.
