foglights (9005) not fitting??

hey all,
i have 2000 navi and i bought the silverstar 9005 to replace the foglight bulbs. here is what i am running into.
1) the hole is not even big enough for the foglight to make it to the tabs
2) the plug does not plug into the foglight. the 2 metal prongs are wider on the bulbs than what the factory plug has.

HELP PLEASE

Like I said in your other thread 9005 is a headlight bulb. You need to get the correct bulb for the fog lights.

As stated before, a 9005 is a headlamp bulb. The bulb you need is either an 893, 899 or 899ST. NOTHING else will work.

If your factory light bulbs were 9145s , the 9005s will fit you have to trim one of the plastic tabs on the bulb, easiest way is to line the bulb to the housing and mark the tab that is off and break the difference off with pliers or something, they will be 10x brighter, make sure they are aimed right, and monitor for heat issues, I have a 2000 f150 no issues

Well if you cut a plug out of a truck that takes the 9145s or the plug for the high beams from a truck from the junk yard , determine the polarity and cut and splice in that harness at the light so the harness plug will fit the bulb, you could plug the 9005s in, not sure on the fitment differences of a 893 and a 9005 into the fog itself tho , If you want to go that far
