Ok, was browsing around and saw that Edelbrock makes a cleavor head, that is a cleavland head designed to bolt right up to a windsor block.
Should I just smash myself in the privates now and get it over with or is there some hope to a cleavor...
Reason I ask is that I have a 393 stroker shortblock... I'm thinking of putting it into my 86 F250 which will ultimatly have a D60 and ZF5... I still need a set of heads
My biggest concern would be exhaust manifolds or headers. Are the ports the same as the 351M/400?
Think I'd have issues with the front accessories, especially the later serpentine setup complete with AC?
My guess would be yes, but you would need to confirm the bolt pattern with Edelbrock. If they are the same be prepared to run into exhaust issues. I've got a 351C in my truck and I'm going to factory manifolds from headers due to fitment issues.
I don't know where you came across this cleavor head, I don't know why they are making them?
In the old days when no one made aftermarket heads for the Fords, this was the backyard way to get a better flowing head on a 302 or 351w. You bolted 351c heads on a 302 or 351w after you did a few modifications, and then you had to buy a specially made intake for it all to fit. You also had to install special pistons for the canted valves in the 351c heads.
That was long ago, there are better heads that bolt on without a special intake. The company that made the special intake went out of business and you can't even get them anymore(unless someone else is making them now?) But there is not much demand since you can buy good heads that already fit what you have.
