Sorry about making you dizzy really not my intention. The wire schematic and pinout are wonderful thank you. So today I have checked the glow plug controler output or pin 101 on the pcm pinout. The wire checked out ok both by ohms and by no negative or positive power. But when computer is hooked up and the wire hooked up to GPR I run a start cycle on the motor so it activates the glow plugs then the wire will have 6 to 7 volts showing. Is this normal (not acording to my research)?
Swap is in 2000 Excursion with 6.8 engine. Old engine had 325 K miles on it and found 2017 6.8 with 6 R 140 with 40K Ks. Got complete harness from F450 but dash harness not same. Need the pin layout to do the proper swap and just plug and play. Do not want to cut and solder wires.
Thanks.
@Hondo2K12 , I am not 100% sure what it is you are asking for, but we can most likely help with the 2000 Excursion 6.8L pinouts. Although, if you want to have access to the diagrams, pinouts and connector details for them yourself, please see the link below.
so far I have not found a pin out not showing KAPWR not on PCM pin 55. When I do a continuity test from fuse it is on pin 49 and is the only pin that is hot testing from battery negative. I have replaced with 2 PCM from junkyard with same number on original. I just do not know what to doat this point. I have read that the KAPWR will continue to be an error until it logs some data. Just do not know why KAPWR is not on pin 55.
After taking back cover off of PCM connector to look at color of wire for KAPWR I could see there was a pin out number there. I totally was looking at this all wrong. So KAPWR is on 55. If I had not seen the numbers on back of connector that was hidden from plastic cover I would have been still with my original message. Thank you for sending that. Its a good thing I had to take the back cover off to verify color. Yes a flashlight is your best friend to highlight details missed without it. So it turns out I have lost my hot from IDM relay to IDM connector which is related to second code. So I will ignore KAPWR error until it can start and start receiving data to store to stop it from coming back. So now to get the engine compartment fuse block out to investigate if it is a simple fix.
Thanks again.
I took relay off. Checked circuit 237 to IDM and no continuity. So have to remove that fuse panel to turn over to see if I can spot a problem there. Did not see any plastic on top at terminal that appeared to have had a little heat there.
