o/d light / transmission problem
hey guys i have a 03 f350 with a 7.3 l diesel i having transmission problems over the last year i plow and haul a skid steer last year right around this time the transmission blow so i got a new one but they put a better torque in it and so other parts it worked great till i got off work last night i started my truck and let it warm up for 20 mins or so went to go home and the overdrive light started blinking not more 100 feet from were i was leaving going to work it shifted just fine as normal i have read lots of forms about this problem but alot of the are the 3 sensors but they have the abs light come on and i dont get the abs light coming on at all you help would be great thanks

could possibly be speed sensor my old 93 had tach sensor go bad caused od light to blink tach wud drop to zero when at idle light wud blink step on gas tach wud work and light would quit blinking finally got real bad and had rough shifting changed tach sensor and it good as new.that sounds like what yours is doing only yours has to do with vehicle speed mine was engine speed.

While changing the fluid never hurts, it isn't going to fix what's wrong here.
You need to pay somebody to read the codes. The places that read codes free will tell you there are no codes because they can't read Ford transmission codes. Without the codes that have been stored NOBODY knows what is wrong. With the codes we can help you diagnose what's wrong.

P0750 is a shift solenoid problem, and P0733 is the incorrect gear ratio when it should be in third gear. I suspect you have a shift solenoid that is failing. That can cause both codes.

could you steer me in the right direction how to fix it and is that the problem thats making the o/d light come on for short periods of time and stay off like nothing happened thanks for your help
