90/110w Hellas in the 02-03 housings have a pretty solid cutoff, but have a pattern which is far easier for me to deal with. Same light output as a HID, and far cheaper.
Any issues with running those much higher wattage bulbs?
I have the DDM kit on order.... 55w hi/lo 6k for the regular lights and 35x 8k for the fogs.
There IS a color difference between 35w and 55w.
I love the 55w 6k's I have on my bike, slight blue when they are cold, but they are just white and extremely (white) bright during use. No noticeable yellow or blue. Hoping the DDM kit works the same.

Would love to see a in cab pic or video of that like alaskaX did. I am pretty set on 35w'ers but could be convinced to get 55w yet. lol

Well.... I can definitely (and plan to) do before and afters using my fields to show the difference.... Furthest point is probably 400ish yards out....so my plan is to do regular lights, same with fogs, High beams, then repeat with the HID's.
If the difference is anything like it was with my bike, it will be drastic.
Nice. I have a 04 1300vtx. Wife is selling her 06 1800
Nice.
I love the bike.... Extremely powerful and very fast for a cruiser.... I actually had a lot more on it, but took a lot off to sell, since it doesn't really add any value.
Oh well, they were made in the U.S.A....those VTX's are awesome bikes, but time to move on!

I whipped up my own headlight harness to maintain the juice going to them, but after 40K they're still going strong, HUGE gain over the stockers or the ultras they replaced.
No heat issues either.
I think I paid 14?each
They will pass inspection unlike the HIDs, and are a far more useful color temp

That is good to hear. My main concern is possible heat issues as I imagine they must get damn hot.

I didn't notice any issues at all, I have the same bulbs in my town car, my motorcycle and my 4wheeler, all are still plugging right along.
No hot to the the touch, no yellowing of lenses or housings, and I tend to keep my lights on most of the time.
