we don't work on my truck at home, but at my brother in laws. we have a pile of scrap ready for cash in up there, but not much at my house. my wife did say, what is that pile of stuff under the workbench in the shed? oh, its a disassembled merc flathead engine that needs a rebuild. ok so far.
I admit I'm a hoarder/collector. Put up one building just for my 67-8 Galaxie parts. I don't store doors in the garage attic, too much work ,besides it's full. Built a shed for about 30 doors. that's full too. If I finished my projects I'd have a lot more room.
Reading all your stories makes me feel darn near normal. I only built a 3000 square foot shop on an acre of land to hold my 'collection,' and I think I'm starting to outgrow that already.
I've got several "sheds" crammed full of sh@#, half dozen flathead blocks and related parts, same amount of Y blocks and sixes, several parts trucks and box trailers. Plus non Ford parts, and enough scrap steel and hardware to build a battleship, etc, etc.
Luckily, swap meet season is coming up, hopefully I can get rid of some of it.....
Unfortanetly I don't have a stock pile of parts for my Ford... But I'm building some for it... Most of my extra parts are for Ch3vy Blazers... Selling my last K-5 tomorrow night... to help fund my f1...

Moe, it's ok. We all have some demons in our closets. Yours just happen to be Ch**y parts. However, you're taking proper steps to cleanse yourself of your Ch**y demons.
Man, my wife thinks I have a lot of "junk", Ilya, you have me beat. You do have the advantage of living in an area that doesn't have a major population of the rust worm. I've parted out at least 15 trucks in the last 30 years and would have been able to save more parts if the trucks weren't upper midwest rust buckets.
The bad part about my addiction is I also have a '37 Buick I'm working on and am amassing parts for it. I'm on my 4th Buick.
The sad part is I know the day after I die my wife will pay someone to haul my "junk" away. I know I've gotten to the point I don't need all of the parts I have. I just have to get the time to organize and sell off what I don't need. I want to enjoy the money I can get for the parts before I die, I plan to leave as little of my truck related hobbly to my family as I can because none of them appreciates it.

BTW, here is my collection, at least most of it:
I thought that you have already died and gone to Bonus Built heaven from what I can see....

I'm with you on that all the way. You have me beat by having indoor storage. I'd love to have your shop space for my hobby. I've told my wife how much stuff is worth from what I have (besides the truck stuff I have other collections) and what to do with it if I happen to check out early. I told her to have an auction and not deal with the headache of piecing everything out. Bob, just in case, leave your wife my phone number. I'll be happy to pay her the going scrap price for your "junk".
I, too, want to sell off what I don't need for my trucks, which is mostly everything, and live a little less stressed life. Less is actually more and I've to realize that about a year ago.
Wow! And I remember somebody here giving me a hard time about my garage being a mess. I think it may have been Kevin-55F350...can't remember now!
Heck! I got nothing.....just simply nothing! I got to show Nicolle this thread! Nice to know where to go though, if parts are needed!
