I finally had to move some parts from the basement today into the garage even though I don't have the room. I've been doing a reno so had to move the "extra" 51 Mercury hood I've had stored for the last 6 years. I had sandblasted it 6 yrs ago, so I buffed off some residual rust and put a rattle can primer on it . I know it won't seal it all together but I hope to deal it off at a swap meet this summer. I've been holding on to a lot of extra parts for "future" use but I guess its time to let go. I still kick myself for junking the 239 flattie without at least checking it out but don't have storage space for all the extra things I've collected over the past 7 years.
Anybody else got the same fever; maybe we need a self help group. We could meet on-line. My names Tom and I'm a hoarder.
I've been hoarding parts for many years But when I decided to move 2 years ago, I made a commitment to get rid of most of it Still not completely through cleaning up my old place, but I have sold over $15K in scrap so far. I figure another week of work will get me finished with scrap and then it is time to finish moving what I intend to keep That might take a while
Went up in the attic above the garage a few weeks ago and I was suprised at how many duplicate parts I had up there. I really have no idea how they got there or what crazy person would do that!!!
I mean seriously there is no reason a person should have 6 extra sets of doors in their attic

I ran out of room, snuck across the hall, and stuck them up there. Hope you don't mind.
Garage, crawl space under the house, side of the garage, back yard, and another storage garage "out in the country" all full of treasures. I'd like to be a fly on the wall when someone goes through all that stuff after I'm gone! I can hear the comments now...car guy, "wow look at all this neat stuff, a goldmine"; wife, "I can't believe that he bought all this crap, I coulda had a new car, new furniture, blah, blah, blah".
Are you ready for a virtual tour of my parts warehouse? This is just what's on the side of my house. Don't worry, I have an alarm, booby traps everywhere, and a very mean guard dog.
Bins full of parts. Under the blue tarp are shelves full with parts in boxes and more bins with parts.
Opposite side (against the fence).
More against the side of the house.
More bins and boxes with parts underneath the tarp.
I also have inner fenders piled on top of the shed's roof seen in the background of the above picture, two pairs of complete Extra Cab doors on the other side of the house, a complete 51-52 F1 front clip, three 51-52 hoods and a complete 215 engine (none pictured).
I've started a project two months ago by categorizing, inventory, tagging and cataloging every part that I have. So far, I've done about 100 parts and I haven't even scratched the surface. My goal is to make the storage area more presentable and organized, with the goal of selling the parts on my website. It's overwhelming, but fun, because I don't know what I'll find in the next bin o' parts!
51PanelMan...I showed your pics to my wife in the hopes that I would get some slack from her...not a chance! She said that just because someone else is sicker than me doesn't mean that I am not "terminal"! She did say that your piles are much neater than mine...
All that rusty gold and no exaust manifold for a 215. Impressive collection!
Thanks for the comments, every one. Since those pictures were taken I've added a few more parts to the pile. This is what happens when you're terminally ill and have parted out close to a dozen trucks over the last 5-6 years.
Eventually, it'll be even more organized. Hope to have all parts sorted and in their respective bins with tags on the bins stating what parts are inside. It's so much simpler that way.
Oh, and as far as the intake, I have a few from a 53+, but they're not entirely correct for a 52.
