My 92 F150 4X4 viberates at 40 mph.When I let of the gas or go faster its not nearly as bad.Its hardly noticeable at 70mph.I just instaled new gears ,could it have something to do with the drive shaft?I would think if it was a tire it would do it at all speeds.

A gear change affected my front drive shaft. Can't run hubs in @ freeway speed until shaft was rebalanced.

Pull your U-joints out and check them for wear. I had a similar vibration and that was my problem. However, my vibration was not severe, just aggravating.

It could be the driveshaft, u-joints, or even the pinion nut or gear setup. Get whoever built the diff to recheck everything.

If your slip joint is within the driveshaft make sure your u joints are in phase.

I HAVE 35" TIRES ON MY 87 F-150 AND WHEN I DONT ROTATE THEM ON A REGULAR BASIS IT WILL DO EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE SAYING
