I have a viberation that starts when the Bronco hits 55-60 MPH , its in the whole truck, door panels, mirrors steering wheel and the driver. I took the rear driveshaft off, took it for a ride and its still there. I had the tires balanced, its still there. What should I try next ?
Check the tires again. Watch the bottom edge of the tire as its spinning on the balancer. Look to see if the tire has a "Hop" to it. Sounds like they're way out of ballance, maybe a bent rim, or a seperated tire. But usually a seperated tire you would notice at any speed.
that happened to me but my problem was the four bolts on the yoke of transfer case the the drive shaft 2 were missing and the other two i was able to unscrew with my hand. yea i spent about $1200 for worth of new tire and alignments and stearing box and all i really needed were freakin $10 bolts and lockwasher and walla. **** monroe brake and muffler
I had that prob 4 years ago, ended up being the torque converter and well the tranny all together. i spent 2 weeks chasing u-joints and drive shaft/tires. Finally took it to the shop.
fishin machine, my tranny is the A4OD 1994 it seems slow to go into reverse and every now and then it will down shift then upshift (on the highway is when its most noticeable) does this sound like the problem you experienced with your tranny when it was vibrating?
I didn't have a prob with reverse. I did have the same issue with it starting to hunt for gears. I noticed that the vibrating would stop for a few seconds after shifting. THis was on the E4OD. SOunds a lot like what I had. If I remember right the guy told me the clutch packs were shot as well.
