I have a '96 F150, sm V8. It has 65K miles. When accelerating, it sounded like the muffler was not functioning properly. I had the muffler replaced, along with the air filter.
The noise is lower now, but still there. Also, the amber "Check Engine" message is on solid.
Any ideas on what I missed or how I can troubleshoot to the failure?
I do not have any books on this truck. I bought it used in '99. It had 36K miles then.
