Mercon V

Getting ready to change the trans fluid per Mark's instructions. Any specific brand of Mercon V I should buy or not buy. Local part store has their brand for $1 cheaper per qt. Don't want to skimp $1 per quart if the there is a significant difference.

If it is Mercon V it meets the correct design specifications, so you will be fine.

I'm a fan of synthetics, and personally like Mobil 1 synthetic. Pricey though.

Thanks Al. May switch to synthetic when this tranny is rebuilt or replaced.

I have mixed a couple of different brands with no problem. It is sometimes hard to find 18-20 qts at one place around here. Just be sure they are Merc V.
