well i noobed out, after taking my HPOP out to fix the non servicable plug and install new o rings,it seems i lost the check valves at the oil line fittings.
i've seen on the Adrenaline pump its recommended to leave them out, will it also work on a stock pump?
I wish I knew. I am totally clueless what they might be for. As far as I can tell, taking those things out might be a sort of poor man's HPx.
In my case it doesn't matter since I had to remove mine when I switched over to JIC fittings.
Thanks Greg Do any of you guys that are running without the check valves have a hpop gauge if so I am wondering if you pressure drops at low rpms. Or what kinda reading are you getting ?
And hopefully someone will know what the check valves actually do ?
The more I'm on FTE and the more I read about delete this heater and delete that valve, I figure by the time you get rid of all the junk you don't need on these trucks and motors you could reduce curb weight by 1000 lbs
well after doing this,i had several long cranking starts, but that was due to the air in the oil and fuel lines.
After driving a bit to purge the air,it starts normal, idles alot smoother, all injector rattle is gone, all i can say is........FIXT!!
Nice... I've read about this before. It is a poor man's HPx to my understanding, but their is no substitue for the real thing. I could tell a difference between my hose HPx and the SS HPx I bought from Clay. I'm thinking the larger ID of the steel line as well as the fact that it didn't have an arch like my hose HPx was what made the difference. Next time I have the pump apart, I'll probably leave them out anyways... I was always afraid I'd catch them wrong when I put those things back in.

the check valve is like any other check valve.....keeps the fluid from going back the other direction......pressure spike thing......

not really a poor mans hpx as it doesnt ccross connect the heads more like opening up the hole in the hpo lines.....deletes a "restriction" if you will......need to get the new style lines myself......

Yeah, I know it doesn't work like the real thing... not near as effective. Tell me more about these lines, though.
