Oil pump recommendations

Looking for info on which brand to get and which to avoid. Will also need a pick up tube. This for a 5.8L that was recently rebuilt by a local machine shop. Thanks in advance.

Well stock build melling is good no need for high volume so really any pump is good just make sure to take apart and check it out. There has been more than one person get a brand new pump with machining material in it still so always check. I like to pack with Vaseline to help prime pump but not really necessary if you run a drill and prime the system which you should do also regardless.
Stock pickup works also most parts stores should have it also.

Mellings, been using them since the '6os chev and Ford. Never had a problem, Also, just use standard pump, not hi vol, hi vol is not necessary unless racing and does not clear stock oil pan.
