STX ECOBOOST

No such engine being offered in the STX regular cab. What's with that? That engine would be a perfect fit for this particular truck.

They want you to buy a more expensive truck to get the premium engine.

Yeah that sounds about right. Exxon just netted another cool $10B in 3 months. Why? Gasoline prices. So what's Ford do? Pushes gas guzzling engines. Some pencil pushing MBA figured this out and got a big bonus as a result.

you have that backwards, they aren't pushing the guzzling engines, they are pushing the more expensive trucks. They want the only people buying lower end models to be fleet buyers. Every "private" buyer should be in lariat or above, that's what makes their profits.

77.... Agree. Same difference though. In essence one has to buy a more expensive truck to get their best MPG/power engine. A real stupid/arrogant move I'd say.

The price difference between the STX and XLT is negligible. Also, like I said, the cheapest model being the XL can be had with an ecoboost.

The STX is a better looking truck with such options as 18" tires. Tire package that is NOT offered on the XL. You notice how an option is available on a specific model and not the others. The auto people sure have this stuff down pat.

Not true, I believe the STX can be had with the 3.7 which is the most fuel efficient engine in the ford line up. So wat ya winen about?!

What I said was the ecoboost is NOT offered in this truck. Reg V-6 along with 5.0 are. Not whining at all. It's just the ecoboost would be a good fit for a STX regualr cab set up. Not available for what ever reason I know not. Maybe you do???

They don't offer the best 6.2 in the FX4 for some reason either! The 6.2 is the best power plant ford has ever put in a truck. Most HP, most torque. And highway fuel mileage only differs about 5 or 6 mpg on all 4 engines. And in reality not much difference at all. So I guess it's a raptor for me. It comes with the best engine, period.
