Just wondering if anyone has noticed if the resale of the bigger engine'd trucks has gone down since the gas prices went up...

 

Not too much change good or bad. There's still a huge difference in value between a gas and a diesel- but that was true a year ago too.

 

Most of the trucks with large engines are used for pulling trailers and when pulling large loads, there is no replacement for displacement. If you're pulling a heavy load, an adequately sized engine will use less fuel than an undersized engine. Experienced towers know this and will continue to buy the engine they need.

 

I'd maybe maybe maybe think that people "wanting" these might not buy them, but if you need it to work, youre gonna get it..

 

Those who actually have a need for them will of course continue to buy them, but I imagine that the market has softened slightly price-wise due to current gas prices from those dumping their 10-15 mpg trucks on impulse.
