I have only had my new baby for a week but I have experienced 2 seperate issues with shifting and limp mode...
I am a fan of tow/haul mode in town to keep my revs up a bit and keep the gearing in the better spot for my tastes and was stopped in park for a few minutes, when I set off I was in 1st gear (tow mode on) and as I pressed on the go pedal gently as I was not in any hurry she stayed in 1st gear well up into the rev range without shifting up?? I didn't let off to keep it in 1st gear,
I was going along a realtively flat section of road and accelerating expecting it to shift up but it didn't... I pressed the tow button to turn it off and she shifted up normally.
Eposide 2 was accelerating onto the highway from an on-ramp, I was not in tow mode but tromped on the go pedal almost to the floor to see how she behaved and she accelerated up to about 4500 then hesitated, ran up to about 6000? (I was watching the road not the tach too much till it started behaving badly) then dropped right out with engine light on and into limp mode struggling to maintain 80kph. I had to keep heading up the highway to the next ramp and the issue went away about 1 or 2 km later and back to normal?
Have not tried to repeat it yet, no time with mrs Clyde sick and all but I may give her a run tomorrow and see if it happens again.
Any ideas? I hope my description was not too muddy for my 2 episodes.

Sounds normal, TH holds it in each gear longer as if you are trying to get a load moving. How many miles on it? My buddy had a similar issue with his EB. I'll ask him tomorrow at work to see if that was what he experienced, but I remember him having some sort of issue while romping on it when it was still relatively new.
Thanks D8, I appreciate you asking...It only had around 700km on it and I suppose I should have gone easier on it but it wasn't exactly slammed down... will experiment when I get some more miles on it. I am a big fan of load it and un load it break ins, sets the rings in and stuff so I try to vary the load and rpms as often as possible, I will see how it behaves... weird how it couldn't figure out what to do in those circumstances but more testing required.
The wierd shifting could be the learning strategy for these new transmissions. Maybe if this is the first time it was romped on it just didn't know what to do yet?
my 2010 at work did some odd stuff like this at first as well. mostly, as you said, using the tow/haul.
i will warn you, that the truck will learn realitivly quickly that you arent actually towing/hauling and the shift pattern becomes much more like your regular shift pattern. It will hold lower gears a little longer, but not quite like it did when it was new.
i'm guessing that your "limp mode" was because you banged it off the rev limiter. The truck was probably not expecting to accelerate that quickly in tow/haul so it didnt give the shift command in time before you hit the limiter.
Sorry for the confusion but the limp mode was not in tow/haul, just regular old automatic. The other episode was tow mode where it held 1st gear...
I think the rev limiter may have been achieved... not my usual driving style as it seemed to have a mind of its own when it allowed the engine to run up so high, I just pressed on the pedal to almost the floor (maybe 3/4 or slightly more?).
More research is coming soon.... still weird to me!
