Aftermarket radio

I've got a question. I've seen several aftermarket radios that would beep several times when the key was cycled. I've put one of those fancy touch screen radios in my wife's truck and hers doesn't do that. Can anyone tell my what makes some of them beep and others not, or better yet, how to buy one that one make that stupid noise if I switch my radio out?

Some of them have initial settings, to were you can turn on notifications as well as various other things, could be in there, but as stated some do not announce at power up.

All the ones that I have seen that that beep are detachable face units. It is supposed to remind you to pull the face.

This does sound right, mine has a detachable face and so does Heston's and they both make that beeping when the key is cut off.Mine is just a cheap Walmart Sony but it works. My factory unit ate all 6 CD's so I pulled it,took it apart and got my CD's back.

Chris, Why would you want it to beep? Just don't snap your seat belt if you want to hear a beeping sound.

That was deactivated as soon as I got my truck!

The only ones I have ever heard do this are Sony. I have Alpine in all of my vehicles. The only annoying thing is the slow startup time on my higher end 9887s.

I know my Pioneer decks do this too, both have removable faces.

Negative. She's got one of those touch screen things that comes with a remote control. I still don't understand why anyone would need a remote control for a radio that is within arms reach.

Besides, if I switch, I want ***** and buttons. No touch screens.

Interesting. I'll have to ask around about that. Barry says his is, I'll have to ask the others I know who have a truck that beeps.

I don't. I'd probably drive around without a radio than have to listen to that beeping sound every time the key was shut off. And I disabled that seat belt reminder as soon as I got the truck (instructions are in the owners manual). I also keep my computer on mute because I don't like it beeping at me either.
