99 7.3 lost power won't start

Hi Everybody. I have a 99 F450 with a 7.3. It has a superchip set at tow safe. I was driving down the interstate yesterday and all of a sudden starting loosing power and the truck had a hard time staying at 55mph. I pulled over cut the engine off to it check out and would not restart. So i towed it home.

It turnes over fine but no smoke.
Checked fuses all looked good.
SES lights and dash lites come on like normal.
HPOP oil level within 1" of top.
Fuel in fuel filter. Filter looks good.
I am going to change oil and filter it is due for that now.
I hooked up AE sftware to it and got these codes:
P0470
P1209
P1211
P1212
P1280
P1282

With ICP plugged in got these reading:
ICP pressure: 83
ICP Duty: 98
RPM: 140
Volts: 9.5 Had charger hooked up

With ICP unplugged
ICP pressure: 2307
ICP Duty: 32
RPM: 140
Volts: 9.5 Had charger hooked up.

I cleared codes and tried to start it got one code: P1280

Do the buzz test with AE. My first guess is you have a UVCH that came loose.

Your ICP plugged in is low with a high duty cycle. If the buzz and UVCH checks out you should look into the ICP and IPR.

Buzz test was good.

ICP had some residue of oil in it but was not bad. Other than oils in it can it be checked out or just replace it?

IPR should I take it apart to check o rings and see if it is sticking?

When you looked at the ICP, was that while cranking? 98% duty cycle and less than 100psi.

Yes it was while cranking and ICP connected.

I cleaned the connector out with brake cleaner and reconnected it. Then re-tested ICP pressure and it dropped even more to around 15 psi and ICP duty was up to 98%

Trying to think of things especially while driving. That could have just gone wrong. Sounds like loss of high pressure oil.

Is the tin nut still on the IPR?

Yes the nut is there.

I do have a small oil leak some where around HPOP but it is small and has been like that for around six months ever since the water pump went out and engine got hot.

I ordered a new ICP,IPR, and new o-rings for HPOP to take care of any oil leaks I my have. Hope this works.

I really need this truck running.

Sounds like you are not building pressure. That could be from the IPR bypassing all the oil back from being stuck open. Have you checked the wire harness on the drivers side valve cover for chafing? The wires to the 42 pin connector can rub through causing issues. A stuck IPR or a bad sire make the most since from what you have posted.

The ICP did need to be replaced based on oil in the connector.

Replaced batteries one was no good. Engine turns over alot better and has 11V when turning over. Did not start engine though.

Replaced ICP and IPR truck started up and is running great.

I just hate when people ask for help on here and fix their truck but dont come back and undate their thread and let everybody know what the out come was to fixing their truck.

Well thanks for letting us know, wish it could have been determined a little better as to what fixed it, my bet is on the IPR personally. But at least you have a new ICP as well.

I'm thinking IPR too. You should save it and rebuild it! Then you will have a spare. Or if you want to get rid of it PM me. I would be interested in rebuilding it as a spare for my shop.
