Transmission stuck!

I have a 99 F350 with 244,000 miles on it and it recently sat for about a month while I got new tires and rims since I had a tire slashed. I would occasionaly start it and let it run to keep the batteries and everything else good however, it did not move during this time. I got all my tires put on and now it won't go forward. It acts like when you put it in drive that it's stuck in 3rd or 4th gear. Idles good and drives in reverse just fine. However, if I put the truck in drive it bogs way down and sometimes dies but if it stays going it pours a little bit of black smoke and wont rev up passed like 600 rpms and I could probably push it faster to be honest. I took the linkage off and shifted it into drive while it was running, someone standing on the brake of course, and it did the same thing bogged and died. I then made sure the linkage was matched up with the shifter and put it back togethor. The transmission has probably 10000 or 11000 miles on it but amcco won't do anything because its been over 12 months. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the torque converter is trying to lock when in D.

I don't know, just giving you a bump so the trans guys can see this.

Good luck. OH, never go to AMCCO to rebuild our trans.

This thread will show you what happened to me. Can you pull any codes? Is your Over Drive button flashing?

Is sounds like the TC is 'locking', but there is something that is 'making it' lock. It could be something very fixable and cheap to do, if you are willing to dig a little bit.
