My brother has a 98 F250 with deisel and automatic transmission. His wif was driving it the other day and inadvertantly put it in park while going about 30 mph! The wheels locked up and the motor died but she restarted and was able to drive away. He has not had any problems for over a month. If there was anyh damage would'nt it have shown up by now? Any suggestions other than not letting his wife drive the truck?

In my opinion, I don't think the parking pin is strong enough to stop you at 30 mph. Also the engine would not have died because when you are in park it disengages the clutches. I think she put it in reverse. That would definitely make it stall. The only damage would be the torque converter. You can get away with that once or maybe twice before ruining the torque converter. I did a neutral drop only once and nothing got hurt. My cousin did a neutral drop 6 times and out went the differential pin through the side.(Front wheel drive)
