OIL SLUDGE

HI every one has anybody had a sludge problum my 08 F450 6.4 only has 35k on it I have had a antfreeze problum since day one been at the dealer they replace the rad hoses and tank now the trunk runs pertty bad so I sent it to the dealer and ther telling me it's pretty sludged up and it needs a motor and they are not covering it and they want 15k to replace it telling me poor maintence which is bs can any one help PLEASE

I would gather all reciepts for maintance esp for oil changes. You know you should be doing them every 5K right? Or XX hours according to the maintance.

I would also advise you call Ford cust svc for fleet and speak with them as well.

Sounds to me like anti freeze got into your oil and created the problem. I think you need to point that out as well. Get them to pull the front cover off and check for cavitation. Have camera and be there.

I did do all the oil change around five thousand miles may not all were exact on 5k but pretty close and I did call ford and they called the dealer while I was still on the phone and denied the claim and I did try to explain to them about the antifreez and seens like they dont care

What oil are you using (is it a diesel spec.) if not it will sludge and other problems , are you using Ford filters, are you changing filters every time you change oil, are you doing all city driving? Why are they saying motor?

yes I use diesel oil 15-40 and only ford filters they said that the engine is so gum up like tar the only thing I can think of is the antifreeze is going to the oil in some way

Have them pull the front cover and check for caviation. You want to see it for yourself. Be there when they do it.

do u think the antifreeze entering thru the cover

Thru the cover or EGR coolers is the common locations. EGR valve if you have the old style.

this is 6.4 new style the coolers are located on the front of the motor not on the intake like 6.0 style I am going to call ford about the front cover to see what they say about it and I want to thank you for help and info
