Smoke is useless. Don't get it ever. I have gearhead. Great tunes and very little smoke. I ran PHP previously and was very happy. Just was in a time constraint and they were very busy. Matt was working locally at the time and I met up with him for a return.
If i wanted smoke. Id buy a cummins lol. I ust dont want to get a chip and two months down the road wish i did something else. Im going to close my eyes and enter my Visa card number. And be done with it haha. So PHP tunes it may be. Steve (rideracelivemx7) has been telling me to do PHP for a long time now. So i'll look into them.
another thing to consider are reburns. If you add something like a turbo or injectors DP charge $30 per tuns plus shipping. Several tuners offer free updates for life. I am running tuning from matt@gearhead
Good point! Im doing stage 2's in the spring, once im back to work. Im laid off right now due to winter and I work at a marina. Soo moneys a bit tight right now.
I always have wondering if with that mode you can drive or is just to use idleing? And if anybody has a video with the difference in sound using it?
Nope, you don't want to drive with it. Strictly for sitting at idle at bank or fast-food window for a minute or so. Anything longer I jump it up to normal tune for a minute then back down. Not good parameters for extended use, and you definitely don't want to drive with it.
Mine from PHP takes a lot of the raspy claky sound out and drops rpm down. Makes a huge difference to me.
And I didn't think anybody does free re-burns if you completely alter your set-up like bigger turbo, bigger injectors, etc.
I thought the free re-burns was to try different tunes for your given set-up (like 100 hp instead of 80 hp) and maybe small adjustments for idle quality, shifting, etc.
Changing inj & turbo requires custom tuning and time, I'd be shocked if that was all free. ?????
"If you are returning your chip for a reburn because you have modified your truck with new modifications that require new tunes, there will be a charge of $30 per performance tune to reburn your chip. This is the difference between standard and custom tunes.
If you are returning your chip to be reburned for a different code, and you are the original owner of the chip, but wish to keep the same tunes, we charge a flat fee of $25 to reburn the chip and shipping cost back to you.:
It also says that switching tunes, as long as they are not "custom" are a $25 fee after the 30 day grace period. All in all, I am very pleased with the performance and service.

Thank you Jim, thats what I wanted to know. Maybe some time you could upload here a video
I believe that is correct, yes. The extra $$ is the difference in purchasing the "custom" tunes in the first place though, so in the end it not really more than $5 per tune for the extra work on top of the orig cost. This allows you to get an upgrade now and pay very little extra cost (minus shipping) up front. Pretty good if you ask me... if I understand their website correctly
TW reburns are free, just have to have proof of purchase. So, any upgrades down the road, send the chip in, have it reburnt just for the cost of shipping.
