pitted surface rust
after cleaning and blasting rust on body panels to the point where it is pitted and all is the same color of grey does this mean i have removed the rust? If so can i epoxy primer then and fill or will rust come back ? SPI says do not use rust converter. Am I missing something htank you for your help

The one no no concerning rust converters, which are acid based, is that if you use one then your primer needs to be acid free. So if one uses a common wipe on and let dry one, like Picklex 20, it is ok to use PPG DPLF epoxy primers as they are acid free. I think this means all etch primers are out. As for SPI maybe that is their reason as I have not seen their products in order to determine what is in theirs.
