Put both on my other batteries on chargers until 100% (interstate 885cca) installed in truck and did the test light. the light would not come on. i am now thinking that since the other battery was draining itself it was making the test light come on, that also gets me thinking that why would the light go out when I pulled fuse #1.

It sounds like you might have a dead short on the radio which caused your batteries to weaken over time and then they started draining themselves because they had been charged, discharged so many times over the course of this last few months or so...

Just to throw it out there, the radio is supposed to draw a TINY amount of current to keep your preset stations and run the clock. I don't know exactly how much, or if it would be enough to light up a test light, but it certainly won't kill the battery anytime soon.
Try out those other batteries and see what happens overnight.
